Switching up Your Skin Care Routine:

Using a heavier moisturizer to combat dryness

The weather is cooling down, so it’s time to switch up your skin care routine! This is when you should start using a heavier moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. I suggest using products with hyaluronic acid or glycerin, as they are both great ingredients for keeping skin hydrated. If you are looking for a new skincare routine, I highly recommend checking out the CeraVe line, as they have an amazing selection of products that are perfect for this time of year.

Exfoliating more frequently to get rid of summertime dead skin cells

Now that you’re switching up your skincare routine, it’s time to remove that summer buildup from your skin. One of the best ways to do this is to exfoliate your skin more frequently. This will help to slough off any dead skin cells that have accumulated over the summer and reveal the brighter, more radiant skin underneath.

There are many exfoliating products on the market, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs. For example, if you have sensitive skin, you might want to try a gentle chemical exfoliating scrub like lactic acid. On the other hand, if you are dealing with acne, you might want to try an exfoliating cleanser with salicylic acid. This is a perfect way to begin transitioning your beauty routine for the fall season.

Investing in a facial oil to add extra hydration

As the fall air gets drier, it’s important to add products that will help hydrate your skin. Facial oils are a great way to add extra hydration to your skin. They are packed with antioxidants and nutrients that can help to improve the appearance of your skin.

Are you looking for a facial oil to add to your routine? Check out these products: Rosehip oil is packed with antioxidants and vitamins that help to nourish and hydrate the skin. Jojoba oil is similar to the oil our skin produces, so it’s easily absorbed and won’t clog pores. Argan oil is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, making it great for hydration and skin repair.

Making Changes to Your Makeup Routine:

Ditching the BB cream and bronzer in favor of a foundation with more coverage

With autumn closing in (thank you, Bob Seger 😉), it’s also time to change up your makeup routine. Ditch the BB cream and bronzer in favor of a foundation with more coverage. A great foundation to use is the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation. It provides medium coverage and leaves your skin with a radiant finish. Another great product to use this fall is the Maybelline New York Fit Me! Concealer. It has full coverage and is perfect for hiding any blemishes. These two products will give you a natural, flawless look that is perfect for the cooler weather.

Swapping out your nude lip gloss for a vampy berry shade

Autumn is the perfect time to add a pop of fall color to those luscious lips. One easy way to do this is by swapping out your nude lip gloss for a vampy berry shade. This will instantly give you a more fall-like look. Some great berry shades to try are MAC’s “Rebel” or Maybelline’s “More Berry.”

Trying a smokey eye look for evenings out

A smokey eye is a perfect way to add a bit of drama for an evening out. To get the look, start with a dark eyeshadow on the lid and blend it up into the crease. Then, add a lighter shade along the brow bone to highlight. Finish with a coat of mascara, and you’re good to go!

For products, I like the e.l.f. Cosmetics Everyday Smoky Eyeshadow Palette. It has all the shades you need to create a perfect smokey eye.

Updating Your Hair Care Routine:

Using a deep conditioner once a week

If you want to have healthy, shiny, and manageable hair, you should definitely be using a deep conditioner once a week. When the temperature drops, I like to keep my hair moisturized and hydrated by using Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment or the Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask. Both of these leave my hair feeling soft and silky.

Protecting your strand before heat styling with a thermal protectant spray

A thermal protectant spray is one of the best ways to protect your strands before heat styling. This will help to keep your hair healthy and prevent damage from heated styling tools. These are some of my favorite thermal protectants: TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray protects your hair from heat damage and provides a barrier against frizz. In addition, the Garnier Fructis Style Heat Protection Serum helps protect your hair from heat damage while smoothing and conditioning your strands. Finally, L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray not only protects your hair from heat damage but also helps to keep your hair straight and sleek.

Choosing rich jewel tones for your hair color

With the chilly weather on the horizon, now is the time to switch up your hair care routine by choosing rich jewel tones for your hair color. Not only will this help you stand out from the crowd, but it will also give you a chance to try out some new products.

These are just a few of my favorite fall jewel-toned hair colors: Burgundy is a classic fall color that looks great on all hair types and skin tones. Burgundy is a great option if you’re looking for a relatively low-maintenance color. Plum is a slightly edgier look. This rich hue is perfect for those who want to make a statement. Finally, blue hair is having a moment, and there’s no better time to try it than in the fall. This unique color will help you stand out from the crowd.

Now that you know how to transition your beauty routine for fall, it’s time to get started! Pick one or two of the tips, ok…pick ALL of them…from this article and incorporate them into your routine.

Before you know it, you’ll be all set for the cooler weather and all the fun that comes with it. Are you ready for it? And just an FYI, Christmas is just around the corner, so it’s time to start shopping! 😃

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great fall season!
